Bio: 1996 was the year of Awards for Gooding. He won an Academy for Best Supporting Actor, NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture, and SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, for his role as Tidwell in Jerry Maguire. He started his career with guest starring roles on shows like Hill Street Blues (1981) and MacGyver (1985). His first major role was in Boyz n the Hood (1991). Other films that Gooding has been a success in are: Outbreak (1995), A Murder of Crows (1998), Men of Honor (2000), Radio (2003), Endgame (2006) and Harold (2008). He was recently in the television movie Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (2009).
