Bio: “I root for the Knicks. I root for the Yankees,” shares Washington. Awards is what Washington has gotten.  In 1989 he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture for the film Glory. He won another Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture for The Hurricane in 1999.  His Academy Awards are for Best Supporting Actor in Glory (1989) and Best Actor in Training Day (2001). Washington has earned fifteen NAACP Image Awards. Other films that Washington has worked on include, Cry Freedom, Malcom X, Fallen, and The Manchurian Candidate. He is currently working on The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, due to be released in mid 2009.
