Howard was drafted right out of high school, in 2004 by the Orlando Magic. Still playing for the Magic, Howard has won many NBA awards including: Naismith Prep Player of the Year, and three- time NBA All-Star. In the 2008 Olympic Team USA he was the starting center and helped the team to win the gold medal.
In 2004, Howard established the Dwight D. Howard Foundation. The Foundation provides scholarships for student attending Howard’s former high school, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy and gives grants to Lovell Elementary School and Memorial Middle School in Orlando, as well as organizing summer basketball camps.
