Derek Jeter joined the New York Yankees in 1995 and has spent his entire career with the team.  He is the shortstop and team captain.  He is considered the driving force which led the Yankees to four World Series championships between 1996 and 2000.
Jeter passed Mickey Mantle for most career at-bats with the Yankees, in 2009.  Mantle’s record had stood since 1968.  He is considered a consummate professional by both his teammates and his opponents.

Claim to Fame:  Third Baseman for the New York Yankees

A-Rod began his professional baseball career as a shortstop with the “Seattle Mariners” in 1994.  Just under the age of 19 he was only the third 18-year-old Major League shortstop since 1900.  A-Rod signed with the Texas Rangers in 2000 with a 10-year contract at $252 million.  He became a power hitter in his first season with the Rangers with 52 home runs, 133 runs scored and 393 total bases.
A-Rod joined the New York Yankees in 2004 and remains with the team at present.  He hit his 500^th home run in August of 2007 making him the youngest player, at age 32, to achieve this goal.  Among his many awards and accomplishments are:  3-time American League MVP and 5-time AL Home Run Title.  Rodriguez is considered one of the best all-around baseball players of all time.
