Dwayne Wade, a shooting guard, was drafted by the NBA team Miami Heat in 2003 and remains with that team. His awards include 2006 MBA Finals MVP, MBA Champion, and Sportsman of the Year. Wade has played on five NBA All-Star teams from 2005-2009. He played on the U. S. Olympic basketball team helping them win the gold medal. He is the Miami Heat all time leading scorer.
Wade is involved in many charitable organizations. “The Wade’s World Foundation, which he founded in 2003, helps support community-based organizations promoting education, health and social skills for children living in at-risk situations. Wade purchased a church for his mother, a former drug user, who became a Baptist pastor. He bought a new home, furnishings, clothing and gifts for a family in South Florida whose home was accidentally burned down.
