Chestnut’s best known work is as “Ricky Baker” in the 1991 film Boyz ‘n the Hood, “Lance Sullivan” in the 1999 comedy/drama The Best Man and the starring role of “Dave” in 2009s film Not Easily Broken. Chestnut’s acting debut was as “Jason” in Freddy’s Nightmares:  A Nightmare on Elm Street. He has also worked in three films with Steven Seagal:  Under Siege 2, Half Past Dean and Prince of Pistoles. Since his film debut in Boyz in 1991 Chestnut has appeared in 27 other films including the comedy The Perfect Holiday which was produced and narrated by Queen Latifah.  He co-starred in the role of “Benjamin Armstrong”.
