Nas’ debut album, IIImatic, released in 1994, was acclaimed  a bestseller and became a classic.  His second album, It Was Written was released in the summer of 1996.  Two of the singles from the album, “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” and became immediate hits.  Nas released seven more solo albums from 1999-2008 and four compilation albums from 1997-2007.  The studio album, Distant Relatives, was recorded with reggae artist Damian Marley and is scheduled to be released in June of 2009.
