Wayne’s debut solo album, Tha Block is Hot was released in 1999.  He became better known when his next two albums, Lights Out (2000) and 500 Degreez (2002) came out.  His popularity rose when his next two albums, Tha Carter (2004) and Tha Carter II (2005) were released.  Tha
Carter III(2008) gained Wayne 8 Grammy Award nominations.  Rebirth, a rock album, will be released in the summer of 2009.
Wayne’s has worked on soundtrack on Chris Rock:  Kill the Messenger, hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live and a presenter on the MTV Movie Awards.  Wayne will play the role of “Lamont” in the 2009 film Hurricane Season starring Forest Whitaker.
